Aim to be proposing designers with ideas and expression technique.
The premise
of interior design is to create the optimum space for individual lifestyles
where individuals can live the lifestyle they desire, the elderly and children
can live safely, or residents can change their disposition. This department
develops world standard personnel from Japan based on the “Wa” of traditional
Japanese culture, which is represented by Kyoto, and the “welfare” mind
represented by universal design. Students acquire knowledge of coordination
and furniture, and the basics of drawing, architecture and CAD. With the
knowledge, students will be able to design residential buildings, stores,
furniture, show window displays, and so forth. In addition, students acquire
practical techniques and confidence through practical experience classes
for reform and display.

In our current disposable era, we want to create indisposable and recyclable products!
We cultivate manufacturing-oriented professionals. The essential core of our classes is “practice.” By watching, touching, feeling, and using, students learn manufacturing procedures to create products desired by people through these elements. As product designs are to create products used by people, students also learn “ergonomics.”
Other knowledge considered essential is to understand materials such as wood, steel, fabric, acrylic, brick, glass, and plastic. Starting with the “this is what I want” premise based on marketing, the idea is then embodied in real products. Moreover, our courses enable students to brush up their basic capabilities for product planning, furniture drawings, CAD, marketing, material processing, and rendering, allowing them to become excellent creators with well balanced sensibilities.

Zakka
design enriches your everyday life. In this department, students learn
overall processes from Zakka planning to creation through practical repetition
classes. Product development ideas and creation technique including design,
display, design business, base molding, coloring, and sales strategy required
for professional work can be acquired in these classes. Moreover, the goal
of the Zakka Stylist Course is to create a “sales professional” with technique
and sales knowledge, and the goal of the Flower Course is to create a bridal
coordinator or a florist.
